Just after 1900, Co. 1 and Co. 5 2nd due and Rit were assigned to Lynchburg Salem Turnpike for a house fire. E-1 arrived and DC Cunningham advised that we had a 2 1/2 story heavy smoke and fire showing. P-5's crew were assigned to Division 2 with a 2nd attack line. Crews worked together to make the attic to bring the fire under control. During this incident a Mayday was transmitted and the firefighter was treated and released. While crews were working this Co. 5 would be assigned to 5 more incidents 3 being working fires.
